HORNET'S NEST COMPETES IN MARRIETTA, OHIO
Harrisville, WV...Eight members of the Hornet's Nest Martial Arts Academy of Street Survival competition team traveled to Marrietta, Ohio Saturday May 20th to compete in the Tsunami Seishin Miyama open martial arts championship, all 8 were big winners as the team brought home 17 medals and 2 Grand Champion trophies.
Austin Garrett won Gold in grappling, LiMing Colkett won Gold in Kata and silvers in Kumite and grappling, Lucas Shingleton won Gold in kumite and silver in kata, Jesse Jameson won Golds in kumite and Kata, Sensei Diana Colkett won Gold and silvers in Kata and weapons kata, Hanshi Jane Van Paepeghem won silvers in kata and weapons kata, Sensei Joseph Colkett won Golds in kata and weapons kata and also won Grand Champion in the Black belt division, Coach Steve Colkett won Gold in Weapons kata and silver in kata and also won the Grand Champion trophy in weapons in the Grandmaster division.
And from the Seiei Kan fighting arts dojo Hanshi Paul Snider won Gold in kata and silver in weapons and won the Grand Champion trophy in kata in the Grandmaster division, Grandmaster Sniders' students also did very well winning many medals.
At the end of a Championship all the division Champions compete against each other for over all Grand Champion, so Grand Champion is the ultimate goal of a competitor.
Grandmasters Colkett and Snider are very proud of their students and congratulate them on their victories.
